Why there are so many new builds in Malaga
Malaga is growing for several reasons at once: tech jobs, an airport with links across Europe and strong foreign demand. In the second quarter of 2026, 37% of home sales in the province went to foreign buyers, according to the Spanish Land Registrars.
If you want to live in the centre, you will find almost no building land and very few resale homes, all of them expensive. That is why most new developments are in districts being built now, with more green space, parking and pools.
